    Antique lithograph of British racehorse trainer Mathew Dawson (1820-1898) by H.G. Banks measures 9 1/2 x 6 1/2 inches including oak frame. Image is approx. 7 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches. Framer's label on reverse is from Butler of 398 4th Ave., New York City.
    This item came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
