    Description

Lot of 2 photographs titled Rayon d' Or in Clover No.1 and No.2. Descriptions inked at bottom front and top reverse.
Rayon d'Or (1876-1896) was a French thoroughbred racehorse and Champion sire in the United States. These photos would likely be from when he was at either Algeria Stock Farm in Erie Pa. or at Nursery Stud in Kentucky, owned by August Belmont, Jr.
Photograph came with a number of horse racing items that belonged to Walter S. Vosburgh, an original member of The Jockey Club, turf historian ( author of American Racing, 1866-1921 etc. ), official handicapper for various racing associations, including New York race tracks from 1894-1934 and for whom the Vosburgh Stakes at Belmont Park are named.
    Thank you.
