REGRET 1st of only three fillies to win Kentucky Derby picture pedigree chart
Regret was the first of three fillies to win the Kentucky Derby. This is a picture pedigree made  to commemorate her amazing achievement. it measures 8 1/2 by 11 inches and is printed on archival  white card stock. The words "picturepedigree" are not on the item for sale. All photos when possible are used with permission or are in the public domain, please see my website picture pedigree for a list of the photographers whose photos I use. I also make and research custom pedigrees for any horse breed. This is one of many pedigrees that I have put together after much research.  I also have  made picture pedigrees for Winning Colors and Genuine Risk the two other fillies who won the Kentucky Derby.  Will fit into in an 11 by 14 frame.
Shipping discount 50c for each additional pedigree.
Regret won all her races at age 2 and 3 and beat colts each time. In her first season she won the Saratoga Special, Sanford, and Hopeful Stakes.
In 1915 the Kentucky Derby did not hold the prominence that it has today. Racetrack promoter, Col. Matt Winn, later said that Regret's victory "made the Kentucky Derby an American institution." Following her victory, Regret defeated Belmont winner, The Finn, in the Saranac.
At 4 Regret lost the Saratoga Handicap but won an Overnight race. The following year she won the Gazelle Handicap under 129 pounds, giving CCA Oaks winner Wistful 24 pounds.
As is very often the case with successful fillies, Regret's success on the track did not carry to the breeding farm. She did not produce any stakes winners of note but will always be remembered as the first filly to win the Kentucky Derby.
Regret was inducted in the Hall of Fame in 1957.
